Photo contest Food Photography: Eggs

About

We invite you to take part in a food photography contest dedicated to the egg as both a culinary and visual focal point of the composition. Submissions should reflect a deliberate artistic vision: harmonious presentation, expressive texture, clear lighting, and an appetizing overall impression. In dishes where the egg’s natural structure is preserved, emphasis on the contrast between white and yolk is encouraged; in others, richness of tone, depth, and freshness of presentation are key. All cooking techniques and stylistic approaches are welcome—from minimalism to rich, elaborate gastronomic scenes.

Accepted:

Photographs in which the egg is the central and essential element of the composition—whether it’s a sunny-side-up egg with a runny yolk, poached egg, deviled eggs, omelet, eggs Benedict, or any other culinary interpretation.
Images that convey appetizing qualities, texture, freshness, and visual expressiveness of the dish through lighting, composition, color, and presentation details.
Human hands may appear in the frame if they are actively involved in cooking, plating, or serving the dish.

Not accepted:

Photographs where the egg is not the main focus or appears only as a minor, background ingredient.
Casual snapshots lacking artistic intent—such as random shots from a dining table or documentary-style photos without compositional or aesthetic value.
Images in which the appearance of the egg or dish has been significantly altered through digital manipulation: texture replacement, artificial addition of yolk, AI-generated elements, or excessive retouching that distorts the actual presentation.

Vote

Viewers' votes are accepted during the submission period and for several days after completion.

Prize

Increase the limit to the load for the main contest 35AWARDS. Extensive coverage of the winner photos, as well as 10 of the best photos of the competition.

Not accepted:

Similar images (similar combination of objects, cropping, different shooting angle, or change of photo tone)
Artificial color changes in graphic editors
Collages and composite images

* A photo that has won in other 35AWARDS contests cannot enter the best photos of this contest. Only one photo of the author can enter the number of the best photos of this competition.
** Images that do not match can be removed from the competition.

This is Express Contest, launched in test mode. This is a thematic photo contest with slight modifications, where we are trying out a new voting system. Despite these innovations, the essence of the contest remains the same—to share your best photos on a given theme and be inspired by the works of others.

During the contest, we will closely monitor participant activity and feedback. We may make adjustments to make the contest even more interesting and engaging for everyone. Please be aware that some errors or issues may arise during the process. We are promptly addressing them and strive to quickly implement any necessary changes.
